BE SMART: INVOLVE LOCAL AUTHORITIES

Municipal Corporations have the mandate and duty to sterilise and vaccinate community dogs. Funds are allocated to them. You can request them to come with a team of catchers and (para)vets to your area. In Delhi, the MCD schedules vaccination drives upon requests of Residents’ Welfare Associations. We prepared a draft letter for RWAs to send to the authorities. Edit it to suit your area.

KEEP PROOF OF VACCINATION OF COMMUNITY DOGS
Apart from the online community dog records, it crucial to keep proof of vaccinations, in case the RWA or anyone else asks for it. You can use a vaccination card provided by vets or NGOs for each dog, but more practical is to keep one list of all your dogs and past the vaccination stickers on it. Download a template in which you can simply add your own details. Contact us to create a Stray Buddy account for your colony (for free) and manage your dog records online.
